A MESSAGE FORM THE FOUNDERS
Behavior University is the brainchild of Drs. Jessica Love and Shannon Crozier, two BCBA®-Ds with a passion for teaching families and professionals about Applied Behavior Analysis and evidence-based practices for autism. We came to work in autism through very different paths. Jessica began her career as an ABA home interventionist and Shannon started hers as special education teacher. We share a passion for applying ABA to socially important questions.
Our paths taught both of us how important it is for families to have access to the information they need to understand and be active in their child's therapy. We also learned about the many barriers that get in the way of accessing quality behavior therapy, including high costs, limited numbers of therapists, and insufficient information and training.

Dr. Shannon Crozier is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst®, licensed in Nevada, who specializes in the learning and behavioral needs of children with ASD. She is passionate about translating the science of ABA to parents, teachers, and other professionals who work with children and youth with ASD. She has led hundreds of workshops on understanding ASD and effective strategies for families, educators, and other professionals ranging from medical students, social workers, search and rescue, and job coaches, to recreational camp staff and nannies.
After 9 years of teaching special education in Canada, England, and the US, Shannon came to University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2003 to earn her Ph.D. In 2006 she collaborated with Dr. Matt Tincani on founding the UNLV Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders. After becoming UNLV CASD Director in 2012, Shannon focused on expanding the scope of the Center and created the CASD Multidisciplinary Assessment Clinic to provide comprehensive assessments to children and young adults in a setting that simultaneously provided training and professional development across disciplines.
She has presented her research at national and international conferences and published in a variety of journals (e.g., Teaching Exceptional Children, Focus on Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities, Education and Training in Developmental Disabilities) and co-authored book chapters on positive behavioral supports and verbal behavior.
Dr. Jessica Love is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® - Doctoral (BCBA®-D) and lead trainer for the Family Positive Behavior Support Project in the Southern Nevada Region. She earned a Master's degree in Psychology (Applied Behavior Analysis) from California State University, Sacramento and a Ph.D. in Special Education from University of Nevada Las Vegas. Jessica specialized in autism and early childhood special education in her doctoral studies and has 8 years of combined research and clinical experience working with populations who have autism and related developmental disabilities.
During her time spent in higher education, she taught undergraduate and master's level courses in special education and inclusive practices for general education teachers. She also participated in a multidisciplinary diagnostic team for autism assessment, engaged in program development and consultation for various clinical providers in the southern Nevada community, provided countless guest lectures in both university and community settings, as well as provided customized training for various professional and community organizations in the southern Nevada region. Jessica has presented at both state and national conferences, and has peer reviewed publications in the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis as well as Intervention in School and Clinic. Her passion is dissemination of behavior analysis in and evidence-based practices to parents and other professionals in the mental health service field.
