Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurological disorder of childhood that often persists into adulthood. It is reported that more than 1 in 10 (11%) of US, school-aged children have received an ADHD diagnosis by a health care provider (CDC, 2016). While medications are often prescribed for children with ADHD or anxiety, the first line of treatment recommended by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) is behavioral therapy. This recommendation is also supported by the American Academy of Pediatrics and is further supported by research published in the Journal of Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychology (Pelham et al., 2016).
During this webinar we:
- Discuss characteristics of ADHD and anxiety
- Review findings from current research
- Highlight similarities and differences between ABA for clients with autism from those with ADHD/anxiety disorders
About the Presenter
This CEU has expanded my expertise in allowing me to have more resources and strategies to help students with anxiety and ADHD.
This CEU was a great way to open my eyes to things I see every day. I will be using some of the strategies learned here in my practice moving forward!
I am seeing more and more clients coming into the clinic with ADHD and anxiety. This was very helpful in providing some insight as to how to approach these with an open mind.
AWSOME presentation! I will watch it with my husband to help him better understand my adult son with a dual dx of ADHD & depression who also suffers from anxiety. THANK YOU!
So helpful! I'm a BCBA in a company with a great social skills program. Currently have a client dealing with anxiety. I was very nervous to go into parent meetings because I would feel incompetent in this subject and not being able to answer some questions. Of course I am no expert, but this course gave me so much insight, reassurance, and great tools to use for intervention. Thank you!
As a special education teacher and a behavior therapist I found ideas, strategies and confirmation of tools I’m utilizing in this course. Thank you.
This has been one of the most interesting and helpful CEU's I have taken. I absolutely loved this topic and it is very pertinent to many clients I serve.
This was more of an overview of anxiety, not a ton of information regarding ADHD. Was hoping to walk away with more idea/strategies to apply in the school setting. The generic list of strategies was helpful, but I was looking for more detail.
This was a great webinar that was easy to follow and so useful for school teachers.
Excellent course! I loved learning from such a huge name in ABA and thought the format and topic was great. I will be getting more CEU courses from Behavior University!
