Is it possible to unplug from unhelpful habits that no longer serve us? Can we use accessible language, grounded in science, to describe how to live more intentionally in our personal and professional lives? Are we able to successfully address burnout in our profession? Can we positively impact our overall wellbeing and the wellbeing of those we serve?
The answer is YES WE CAN!
Join us as we explore how to PAUSE unworkable habit loops that often move us away from valued living. PAUSE stands for Present moment awareness, Acceptance, Unstuck, Self-Compassion, and Engagement. PAUSE is based on scholarly and applied work in ABA, behavioral neuroscience, positive psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Learning Objectives:
- Disengage from unhelpful, reactive habitual behaviors and support your wellbeing through the application of PAUSE.
- Practice present moment awareness in your everyday routines to build your “mindful muscles.”
- Access resources and tools to help break unhelpful habit loops and create self-care practices to enhance overall wellbeing and mitigate burnout.
About the Presenter
This was such a great course. I think it is so needed for behavior analysts and technicians. I especially liked the ACT component of identifying values and planning committed action because I had wanted to learn more about this topic. It got me thinking about my values. I also love the relation to real life examples we come across as behavior analysts and technicians, such as tough conversations with parents or meetings.
This was not only an informative training, but I finished this course feeling motivated to teach to both our adult clients with DD and our staff.
