Your professional development will likely be the longest-running behavior change project you undertake as a behavior analyst. Every year, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) engage in continuing education to maintain their certification and licensure. However, professional growth can be much more than a requirement. This presentation will explore how to strategically plan and manage your development to become the professional you aspire to be. By approaching professional development intentionally, behavior analysts can make learning both meaningful and realistic, ensuring long-term career satisfaction and effectiveness.

This talk offers actionable strategies to guide attendees in aligning their continuing education efforts with their career goals, ensuring sustainable growth over time.

  1. Identify at least three areas of interest or professional skills in ABA to focus on for development.
  2. Determine two preferred learning methods and two sources of continuing education to explore.
